LEADING LAWYER KATHERINE SHEERIN JOINS MAHER LAW

Maher Law is delighted to announce that Katherine Sheerin joins the growing team as Head of Employment & Data Privacy. Katherine joins Maher Law from Cains where she held the same leadership role.

Katherine is one of the Isle of Man’s leading and most respected employment lawyers with over 20 years’ experience advising multi-national employers and well-known names on all aspects of employment law, business immigration and data privacy. She handles contentious and non-contentious matters with characteristic attention to detail, commerciality and responsiveness.

Katherine is dual-qualified as an English solicitor (non-practising) and is particularly experienced in handling professional disciplinary cases and advising in regulated sector contexts. These form a significant part of her core practice along with senior terminations, equality and whistleblowing claims and complex performance/capability issues.

Katherine has been ranked for many years as a leading lawyer by independent directories Legal 500 and Chambers & Partners.

Maher Law Founder, Tom Maher, commented: “I am absolutely delighted to welcome Katherine to the Maher Law family. Katherine and I worked together over 20 years ago as young (or in my case, youngish) lawyers in Cains. From the first day we worked together, I have always been impressed by Katherine’s integrity, attention to detail and her desire to provide a world class service to her clients. Katherine’s skills and experience will add real value not just to our employment law team, but also to our regulatory and disputes teams. She is highly regarded by peers and clients alike and she truly embodies the Maher Law philosophy. I am excited to work with Katherine in the coming years to build Maher Law’s profile further”.

Katherine Sheerin commented: “This is a very happy move for me and a true alignment of the values Tom and I share, namely our uncompromising views on the quality of legal advice and delivery as well as the prioritisation of, and investment in, education to produce the next generation of lawyers who represent the firm, our jurisdiction and the profession at their best. I look forward to working with Tom immensely and contributing to Maher Law’s growth in the coming years".
