Isle of Man law firm Maher Law acted on behalf Challenger Energy Group PLC (Challenger Energy) in relation to the High Court hearings for the scheme of arrangement by which Challenger Energy was acquired by Canadian listed company Sintana Energy Inc (Sintana).
Isle of Man corporate and commercial firm SW Legal and UK firm Clyde & Co acted for Challenger Energy in relation to the acquisition generally. Isle of Man firm Cains, UK firm Pinsent Masons and Canadian firm Fogler Rubinoff acted for (Sintana).
Challenger Energy is an oil and gas exploration company that was publicly listed on the AIM market of the London Stock Exchange. Challenger Energy is focused on offshore Uruguay and holds legacy assets in The Bahamas. The combination of Challenger Energy and Sintana is expected to create a leading exploration platform spanning the Southern Atlantic, with a combined portfolio offering high-impact exposure to two of the world’s currently most active and emerging hydrocarbon exploration geographies.
